Since October 2020 - on a secondment from LyondellBasell (LYB) - Wiebe Schipper is leading QCP, the company for mechanical recycling of plastic waste. In his prior role, heading European LYB Supply Chain teams for Polymer Logistics Operations and Customer Service, the focus was on integration of A. Schulman (acquired in 2018) and synergy-delivery. He joined Supply Chain in 2017 from the Olefins business, where he managed the Propylene commercial team. Before, he worked in Business Analysis, Biofuels Advocacy and LPG-trading roles. He joined predecessor company ARCO Chemical in 1996, as a dual Engineering graduate (Chemical/Process Design) from Delft University, spending the initial seven years of his career in an engineering and manufacturing environment.
Current role: Focus is on accelerating profitable growth of QCP in Europe. Contribute to delivering the circular economy and resource efficiency ambitions of both shareholders by expanding QCP’s recycling activities. Define and lead growth projects including acquisitions, partnerships, debottlenecks and new-built plants. Integrate new operations into the QCP-group, such as Belgian recycler Tivaco (acquired in 2020).
Personal: Wiebe is Dutch, 52 years old, married, and lives in Rotterdam. In his spare time he likes to travel, visit pop/rock concerts, read, run, hike, bike, ice-skate and snowboard. He co-founded the Rotterdam chapters for the Awesome Foundation and for parkrun. Together with friends, he invented the tap-water for charity brand Neau in 2003 (idled in 2008).
