Global Director of Sustainability, Ampacet
Doreen Becker is Ampacet’s Global Director of Sustainability. She has over 20 years of experience in the coloration of plastics and color insight trending.
Doreen holds a Bachelors of Science in Analytical Chemistry from King’s College and a Masters in Fine Arts from New School University- Parsons in New York City. She has more than 10 international patents and has written and presented papers all over the world.
She is formerly the Chair of SPE’s Color & Appearance Division and has served on their board for more than 12 years. She has also presented numerous presentations at SPE and other international plastic conferences over the years.
Doreen was recently elected to the Society of Plastic Engineer’s executive foundation board and chairs the Plastivan committee and also serves as the secretary of the Endowment Committee.
She directs Ampacet’s R3 sustainability initiatives globally, driving the development and execution of sustainability strategy for the company across all regions. Serving as Ampacet’s “Sustainability Ambassador”, an active member of major organizations involved in recycling/circular economy and green initiatives/sustainability, with a particular focus on the packaging industry. Doreen also represents Ampacet’s contributions to the plastics industry and corporate sustainability efforts to customers, prospects and other external parties, and bringing ideas for product/service innovations and/or enhanced business practices back to the company.
Doreen has written her first book entitled, “Color Trends & Selection for Product Design” published by Elsevier in June 2016.
She lives in Pleasantville NY with her partner and 18 year old son.
